On the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the discovery of pile dwellings in Ig, we are preparing a varied summer program for all generations.
From July 17 to 27, families are invited to an exciting adventure called Pile Dwelling Treasure Hunt! With the help of clues and a map, you will explore the Ljubljana Marshes, learn about the life of pile dwellers, and win a small pile-dweller treasure.
Also don't miss the Saturday demonstration of pile dwelling craft technique (July 26), where you will be able to see with your own eyes how the prehistoric inhabitants of our region once made clay vessels, and other everyday objects.
The events will take place in the Morostig House, the Morostig thematic trail, and the pile dwelling. Join the celebration of rich heritage and learn about the life of pile dwellers in a different and exciting way.

Before us is the Slovenian cultural holiday – Prešeren Day, celebrated on February 8th
The story of the exploration of the Ljubljana Marshes and their pile dwellings is a long one, but it is far from over. Morostig opens the door to its core chapters, where you don’t just follow the paths of other researchers, but make your own path at interactive stations.
How long is the road to prehistory? In the Ljubljana Marshes, it is short and entertaining. It reveals the diversity of fauna and flora in the marshes, and offers a panorama observed since the time of the pile dwellers. Curiosity, let’s get moving!
