How to find us
If the municipality of Ig is in the centre of Slovenia, the Morostig House is in the centre of Ig.
Therefore, you can get to the site in different ways and by different routes:
from Ljubljana you can take the city bus No 19I
by car, take the A2 motorway and take exit 33. From the exit, turn onto the road Ižanska cesta and continue towards the road Peruzzijeva cesta, which you follow until it turns onto the road Govekarjeva cesta
by bicycle from Ljubljana you follow Ižanska cesta towards Ig and continue towards Peruzzijeva cesta, which you follow until the turn onto Govekarjeva cesta
individual visitors can park their vehicles in the centre of Ig or at the Ig Cemetery car park (direction Ig – Iška Loka), and at the Ig Culture Centre (Dom kulture) car park.
organised groups arriving by bus to visit Morostig get off in the centre of Ig (the Športna dvorana Ig bus stop), and the bus parks at the car park at the Ig Cemetery (direction Ig – Iška Loka).
The pile dwelling is about 2 km from the Morostig House. A marked path, partly a gravel road, will take you there.
Parking of motor vehicles (bus, car, motorbike) is not possible in the immediate vicinity of the pile dwelling.
